01/03/25 Welcome and Introduction

Summary of Discussion:
Changing bank account card holders
Ongoing delays continue due to ID verification challenges.

Banking hub at Bakewell now available.
Treasurer : – Jess O’Dwyer has volunteered to continue with this role next year, but not clerk as
well. New committee member /secretary clerk to be sought (RD)
The bank account balance as of 27th November was £2524.46. Payment out £40 membership fee to Rural Action Derbyshire.
We have had one payment in of £473 proceeds from the Christmas Raffle and Rock and Roll Bingo plus one bank transfer payment in for £6 payment for a stall at the Spring Fair. Total in bank as of 26th March 2025 £2,963.46

No funding has been applied for or received.

07/03/25 Fundraising
Summary of Discussion:
Christmas Raffle and Rock and Roll Bingo
Total Raised £493.
The Rock and Roll bingo was a very enjoyable evening despite low attendance, possibly held too
close to Christmas.
Spring Fair – Arranged for Saturday April 5th 2025 from 11am-3pm.
Raffle, Tombola, Games, stalls and refreshments planned.
Treasure Hunt – Sunday 8th June 2025 starting from 2pm.
Same format as last year, main prize for car hunt, plus ice cream raffle for participating cars. Route
to be planned by RD.
Fundraising subgroup meeting – Not required.

08/03/25 Rural Action Derbyshire (RAD)/ Future Vision
Summary of Discussion:
There are no plans to sell the building, although discussion has taken place regarding this
possibility and what might happen to the proceeds and Memorial status.
Also, there was no interest in having a business model although we have investigated the Plunkett
Foundation for Guidance on community commercial businesses. Link to their website below:

It had been agreed at the last meeting to maintain the building as a Village Hall.
To find out what would be involved, what we need to do, the main concern being cost.
Essential Maintenance and keep building watertight
Start essential work to comply with Planning permission before it expires.
Get more realistic idea of costs involved (obtain quotes)

09/03/25 Utilities

Electricity- Nil further, (LM to contact Mark Gell NPD)
Sewage and access problems remain unsolved.

10/03/25 Groundwork/Building Maintenance
Summary of Discussion:
Chimney and Gutter Repairs
LM had a quote from W. Mosely builder, to take down the chimney and make good the roof. This
was accepted by the committee, work to start in May.
A quote for the whole roof to be checked and repaired were necessary, including the gutters was
also to be sought.
The plans for the building were then discussed, mainly concentrating on the ramp to the back
door.
The ramp could be widened and the gradient reduced. It was suggested some of the stone from
widening the gateway could be used for this, plus rubble form the work on the chimney.

Summary of Discussion:
JB had received communication from Flagg Village Hall requesting a letter of support for their
funding application.

13/03/25 Any Other Business
Summary of discussion
A free energy audit for the hall has been applied for and completed by East Midland Chamber of
Commerce. This would normally cost £1,500 – but has been funded by DDDC to support growth
and decarbonisation.
